John Cochran Quartet – John Coltrane Tribute Concert

Join us for “All Trane” – a night of musical tribute to the man, the legend, John Coltrane. 

John Cochran was raised in a home filled with the Music of The Allman Brothers, Motown, and Stax Records.

Cochran began playing guitar at 6 years old, following in his older brothers footsteps.

Cochran was mentored while he lived in Nashville by Jack Pearson, alumni of The Allman Brothers Band. He has played with Jack Pearson on duo as well as full band gigs.

Cochran holds a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from Middle Tennessee State University, where he was hired as as Professor of Music prior to finishing his Graduate Degree.

He also holds an Undergraduate Degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in Jazz Performance- Cochran currently the Professor of Jazz and Studio Guitar Performance at Southern Mississippi and Coastal Alabama Community College.

He also has taught Music for The University of Mobile and MTSU.

The Quartet will feature two New Orleans musicians-
Chris Severin (bassist for Dr. John and Allan Toussaint) as well as Clarence J Johnson III on saxophone.

The drummer for The John Cochran Quartet is John Milham- Cochran’s long time friend and spiritual mentor.

The group will be playing music spanning Coltrane’s career from his time with Miles Davis, tunes from his groundbreaking album Giant Steps, as well as Coltrane’s spiritual masterpiece- A Love Supreme.

This show is only played once a year- so don’t miss your chance to catch these musicians paying Tribute to John Coltrane!
