Laurie Anne, nicknamed LA by her friends, grew up on Hollinger’s Island, a small community just south of Mobile, Alabama. She picked up her first musical instrument when she was 10 years old, learning piano, flute, oboe and finally settling in with the guitar when she was 14. At 16, she played her first solo performance in a singing competition at her high school.
At 19, LA wrote her first song and began signing up to play at any open mic night that would let her in underage. Over the next few years, she met some of Mobile’s finest singer/songwriters and became inspired by them to pursue her dreams and explore her talents. She began booking gigs at restaurants and coffee houses while learning what styles she enjoyed playing and how her audience reacted to the music she performed, including her originals.
Her spirit for life flows through her songs in calming, melodic ballads. Her music reflects hope, love, passion, faith, sadness, and strength to overcome. She is recently released her EP Ebb and Flow.
LA is a member of the Port City Singer/Songwriter Group, a member of her church’s praise band, and she was a 2016 Nappie Award finalist for “Best Area Singer/Voice”
